Local Ace Hardware Stores Bring Holiday Cheer to USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital

This holiday season, the courtyard at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital transformed into a magical winter wonderland for the Second Annual Tree Farm, thanks to the generous support of Ace Hardware, a proud Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner.

On December 17th, patients and their families stepped into a festive oasis filled with colorful miniature Christmas trees in shades of turquoise, purple, pink, lime green, and white. With the help of volunteers from Ace Hardware and the hospital’s Mapp Child and Family Life Department, more than 20 patients picked out trees and ornaments to decorate their hospital rooms.

The event wasn’t just about decorations—it was about creating moments of joy and normalcy during a hospital stay. Patients danced to holiday music, played in faux snow, and even met SouthPaw, the University of South Alabama’s beloved mascot. For those unable to join in the courtyard, hospital staff delivered trees, decorations, and treats directly to their rooms, ensuring everyone could share in the holiday spirit.

Carlton Paris, co-owner of several Paris Ace Hardware stores along the Gulf Coast, shared his excitement about the event:

“It’s everyone’s favorite event that we do all year. We love to bring smiles to the patients’ faces.”

Research shows that celebrations like these can help normalize the hospital experience, reducing stress and anxiety for patients and their families, and even contributing to better health outcomes.

This event is a shining example of the impact Ace Hardware and other CMN partners have on our hospital. By supporting events like the Tree Farm, they’re not only brightening the holidays but also making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community. We’re deeply grateful to Ace Hardware for their continued partnership and encourage our community to support the businesses that support our children. Together, we’re changing kids’ health and their futures.

Collectively, the 23 Ace Hardware locations along the Gulf Coast have raised more than $1 million for USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital through their support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
