Newly Expanded Pediatric Emergency Center at Children’s & Women’s Hospital
We are thrilled to announce the formal dedication of the new Pediatric Emergency Center at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, a momentous event marking a significant milestone in our commitment to providing specialized care for sick and injured children.
The expansion has more than doubled the size of our former emergency department, from 9,000 to nearly 19,000 square feet. With over 30 treatment areas, including 25 private treatment rooms, the new center is designed to offer specialized, high-quality care 24/7. Board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians and pediatric nursing staff collaborate to ensure the best outcomes for our young patients.
Understanding the challenges families face when bringing a child to the emergency department, we focus on offering family-centered care to provide the necessary support. Our commitment to addressing the unique physical and emotional needs of children is reflected in the thoughtful design of this new center.
Additionally, child life specialists and social workers will be on hand to minimize anxieties, normalize the emergency department experience, and connect families with community resources. The Pediatric Emergency Center is not only a place for healing but also a space for education and training for future healthcare providers.
